9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Kaboom!, February 22, 2008 By This review is from: 12W6v2D W6v2 Series 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils (Electronics) This is an amazing sub that will leave your neighbors, your neighbor's neighbors and anyone within listening distance in traffic wondering where the explosion is. It will simply jump out of it's box and slap people in the head with ground pounding bass. Quality manufactured and built to bring that high quality thump to your trunk, the W6 is a subwoofer is designed to operate perfectly at 500 watts and will simply melt your ears off at 1000 watts! Enjoy!
13 of 16 people found the following review helpful Good car sub even better HT sub, May 30, 2008 By This review is from: 12W6v2D W6v2 Series 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils (Electronics) This is an interesting subwoofer. When I first recieved it, I thought to myself, why are low end frequencies so weak?! At the time the sub was enclosed in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box. I later had to take the sub out of the car after an accident (luckily it wasnt damaged), and had it laying around at home. I later got my hands on a great sub-box modeling software (winISD) and started playing around with settings. Made a custom 6cu ft box with the vented port tuned at 25hz, and man is it different. This sub has become a complete beast. At 30hz I went from from 106db all the way to 120db. 40hz is now 118db compared to 110db. I am convinced JL audio now has one the best subs around. BTW this is being power by a Samson studio amp outputing 600rms (peaks at 650ish) at 2ohms. So if you already have the sub, get a bigger box guys, HUGE diffence. Sorry about the long review, just wanted to share my experience with everyone. If I had to do it all over again, I think I wouldve done the 13w7 instead,... Read more
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Amazing, June 10, 2010 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 12W6v2D W6v2 Series 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils (Electronics) All of my friends that have a system have 2 subs in the back. Mine basically rapes theirs power-wise and sound quality-wise with only one of these subs. Do know (if you are new to subwoofers) that getting this professionally installed, a good amp, box, and wires, is gonna run you AT LEAST $800. I was only planning on spending around $500 - $600, but I have no regrets what so ever buying this system. My amp (JL Audio 500.1) puts 340 watts RMS into this sub (4 ohms, 500 watts if it were 2 ohms) and I havn't even got near the max on it. I usually have it only on 2/3 at the most, which is just over 1/2 of the RMS the sub can take. I'm honestly scared for my hearing to put it too much louder. Get this subwoofer it's so inexpensive on Amazon (got it for $298 and on the JL Audio site it's $539.95) for what you're getting!
