Satellite Radio Heaven, August 15, 2005 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sirius Satellite Receiver Vehicle Package (Electronics) I researched both XM and Sirius for some time before buying this unit. The XM radios seemed to be of better quality, but Sirius programming included more of the things I wanted to listen to. As I read buyer reviews of the various receivers on several sites, I was very disappointed with the problems that were reported. This XACT receiver was rated better than most, and I knew a co-worker that had one.
I have owned it for about a month now and I am very satisfied. I purchased both the vehicle package and the home package. The vehicle package was easy to install and reception is good. The suction cup stand that is supposed to attach to the window does not work as it is designed. I glued mine to the dashboard and it is fine. You may have to get creative.
I have used the home package most. I carry it from my office to home every day. I have found that I can find places at home where I get a great signal. Don't worry about finding a window, just experiment... Read more

Buy it right now!, November 5, 2005 By This review is from: Sirius Satellite Receiver Vehicle Package (Electronics) Just like the majority of other new Sirius customers, I decided to buy Sirius because of Howard Stern. I got it last night, and just cannot turn the darn thing off. First off, some comments about Sirius. You get so much more than just Howard Stern (as of this review, he is not even working at Sirius yet), I already got 18 presets and I didn't even have a good look at the channel line-up yet. Talk radio is like never before. Lots of comedy? Absolutely. Edgy stuff? Plenty. Political talk? More than you will EVER ask. Music? ANY kind you want, ANY time you want. A fraction of my favorites so far include Reggae, 80's, 90's and classical.
Here is a promise: You will NOT go back to regular radio after this. No more are you at the mercy of whatever the radios play. You have so many choices, you get whatever you want to listen to, whenever you want to listen to. This is RADICALLY different than old-fashioned radio. It is a TOTALLY different experience. Its a shame that in the 21st century there is so much junk out there. this unit is great. it does run alittle hot but has not failed at all. the fm transmitter is very powerful--up to 3 car lengths back when tuned into the same fm freq. the remote sucks the buttons are too small and very hard to use when driving. also the brightness control sucks -- to dim in the day and too bright at night. mounting is a pain--include more options and dont make me buy a home dock you dont need it. just a ac adapter. i can move the car antenna and car dock inside my home!!! but for 42$ on ebay and the 38$ wal-mart home kit i can listen to howard stern and my new wave music anywhere. i think a boom box is a waste of money---make your own with a portable battery and speakers or just pull your car up and use a portable radio up to 30feet or so.
