Upgrading? Worth Every Penny, January 3, 2012 This review is from: Focal K2 Power 130 KP 5.25-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker Kit (Electronics) Since this is a $400 product and no reviews, I figured I'd write a fairly in depth response based on my experience:
These are great speakers. They sound fantastic. Great imaging, frequency response, and clean. People nowdays are primarily looking for spl systems and although these are an sq product, they will keep up with the beastliest of subs. It is always worth the price difference to get the components over the coaxials too.
The one drawback is finding a way to conveniently mount the crossovers and tweeters. The crossovers are adjustable as well, which is awesome. DON'T buy these and try to run them off the deck though. These need an amplifier and run optimally between 60 and 80 rms. They're rated at 70 but I have them off an older premier at 75 watts with the gain at about 3/4 and it's perfect.
Note: If you purchase these from Crutchfield, don't use the foam baffles they recommend. I tried it and they worsen the sound quality substantially. My... Read more
